Serenity Oaks is not in the business of buying horses however Daisy came into our lives and we had to do something about it so we bought a horse. We were contacted about Daisy and her leg, when we saw Daisy our best guess is she hurt her leg and was dumped and not treated very kindly, so Daisy landed at Serenity Oaks Equine Sanctuary.

We consulted with our vet, got x-rays done of her leg however, with the advice of our veterinarian the most humane thing for Daisy would be let her cross over the rainbow bridge. Although we only knew Daisy for a short few days she connected with all of us especially our daughter P. Making this decision has been the toughest to date so far on the farm.

So for the week that she was with us, she was shown love, compassion, she was comfy in her stall and we gave her the name Daisy. She received pain meds to keep her comfortable, got a birthday party with cupcakes, massages and brushings. Most of all she received unconditional love from all of us but especially from P who spent her entire spring break in the stables reading to her, tending to her, sleeping over night with her and praying as hard as she could for God to fix Daisy.

Daisy is why we do what we do. Rest easy, pain free galloping through the open pastures.

Thank you to our amazing vet, Tyler Minor, our friends who showed love and support, and most of all to all the donors who helped with Daisy’s vet bills. Rescue is not easy and not possibly without amazing supporters.
